Face Studio

Keep the faces of your recurring characters in one place — upload a photo or generate a face — so every scene and avatar shows the same person.

Updated 23 October 2026

What it does

Face Studio holds your reference faces: one portrait per recurring character. When a scene image is generated with a reference face, the character looks the same in every scene — no matter how different the setting is. On the left is My Faces, on the right Add a face.

The faces belong to you, not to one story: you make a face once and use it in as many stories as you like, in the Image Studio and in the Avatar Studio.

Add a face

  • Upload — drop a photo into the field or click it. A portrait format (9:16) works best.
  • Generate — choose Man or Woman, the age (10–99), the image model and an ethnicity (or Random), then click Generate. Its price in credits is shown on the button. You then see the face and decide: Import adds it to My Faces, Discard throws it away — generate again until it fits.

A new face is called "New Face" — click its name to rename it. Name it like the character in your script (e.g. Daniel), so you find it again later. Delete removes it.

A good reference face

  • One person, face clearly visible, looking roughly at the camera.
  • Even light, no sunglasses, no hand or hair over the face.
  • A neutral background and expression — the scene sets the mood, not the reference.
  • Sharp and not too small: the face should fill a good part of the picture.

Use a face in a story

  1. In the Story Blueprint, give the character a fixed name (e.g. "Daniel") and keep it the same throughout the script.
  2. In the story's Reference Faces tab, tick the faces from your pool that are this story's cast.
  3. In the Images tab's setup, the ✨ icon next to Detected Characters finds the recurring named characters in the script.
  4. Open the per-segment table and tick each character in the segments where they appear — up to two faces per scene — then generate.

Nothing is applied automatically: a face is only used in a segment where you ticked it.

Elsewhere

  • Image Studio — pick up to two references for a single image: faces, avatars or storyboard characters.
  • Avatar Studio — your faces are listed there as a starting point for an avatar. A headshot uploaded in the Avatar Studio lands in your faces automatically.

When something goes wrong

  • The character still looks different — check that the face is ticked for that segment, and use a clearer, more frontal portrait.
  • Two characters blend into one — give them clearly different reference faces and only tick the ones that are really in the scene.
  • The face isn't offered in a story — tick it first in the story's Reference Faces tab.
